THIS IS WHAT TRUE LOVE LOOKS LIKE

December 12, 2017 ~ Sara ~ Leave a comment

I’d been meaning to try Couchsurfing since I had landed in Australia and wasn’t successful until last weekend and the experience couldn’t have been better! I got picked up by my hosts’ nephew, Scott who took me to Clifford and Stella’s, the sweetest couple in their mid 80’s who have been living on a boat … Continue reading THIS IS WHAT TRUE LOVE LOOKS LIKE

Jumping into 2019 like 🥳
Shell Beach: where walking on the beach sounds like walking through a field of wind chimes 🐚
I’ll be here if you need me 🌊💙
West coast Australia, I’m speechless by your beauty.💛
most important take away message (for me) from Vipassana is to observe every moment as is. That’s your reality. 💁🏽‍♀️ Understand that whatever you’re feeling, whether it is over the moon happy with life or down in the dumps, it will all change with time. So don’t take anything for granted as everything will eventually fade away and you’ll be faced with a new reality. 🧚🏻‍♀️🌸. . . 📷: @j_reisig
Today I go back to this beautiful place but for a totally different reason this time: a 10 day meditation course. I have absolutely no idea what to expect, but I’ve been told that it’s good to go in with no expectations. Meditation has been something I’ve attempted for the past year or so but I can’t say I’ve had much success with. The result of my practice can be summed up in 2 ways: my mind is either racing all over the place, contemplating on something I did in summer 2007 (🤯) or I’m so relaxed I fall asleep (😴 does this happen to anybody else?)! So, 10 days of noble silence, zero social interaction, no electronics, books, or diaries will be the strangest feeling and possibly one of the hardest experiences but I’m ready to try it! I want to challenge my body and mind in the hopes of introducing something that can change my life for the better. Isn’t that what travelings all about anyway? Stepping into the unknown and hoping it all goes well? (And about 1% of the time, it doesn’t all go well… AKA my skydiving experience, leaving me with a bigger fear of heights than ever 🤦🏽‍♀️😂 - scroll down for photo evidence!)
